Former corporate executive, baseball coach, field-trip chaperone, nature lover, theater-goer, music fan, and experience collector, Jay Hummer has spent a lifetime blurring the boundaries between work and play.
An avid fun-seeker since childhood, he figured out early how to capitalize on opportunities to do the things he loves: play sports, eat good food, connect with people, and see the world. As a successful franchise-business corporate executive, he traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe exercising his yearn to explore in his free time.
Now a successful entrepreneur, the author continues to fit in fun and discovery around work and family life wherever and whenever he can. From his home base in Massachusetts, he, his wife Helen, and their three grown children still take frequent field trips to literally climb new mountains, explore unvisited vistas, or just gaze at marvelous sunsets from one of the thousands of picturesque locations across America.
His new mission is to get ‘folks’ to stop limiting play to weekends and vacations and incorporate it into every possible moment.
Here, Jay sits at the cheapest seat at Chase Field in Phoenix, his preferred way to visit a ballpark.
